Position Overview:
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator supports the organization's volunteer program and community engagement efforts by assisting with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, communication, recognition, and retention activities. The position also serves as the primary intake point for community organizations seeking Resource Center participation in outreach activities, events, sponsorship opportunities, presentations, and partnerships. Working collaboratively across departments, the Coordinator helps ensure timely responses to community requests and supports agency participation in community engagement initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteer Program Support
- Assist the Director of Volunteer Engagement with recruiting, onboarding, training, engaging, and retaining volunteers.
- Maintain records, service hours, training documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Communicate volunteer opportunities, schedules, and organizational updates.
- Assist with volunteer recognition and appreciation programs.
- Help coordinate volunteer participation across agency programs and events.
- Serve as a resource for volunteers and help address routine questions and concerns.
- Support volunteer-related reporting and data collection.
- Serve as the intake point for requests for Resource Center participation in events, outreach activities, presentations, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Receive, review, document, and track community engagement requests.
- Coordinate with internal departments and program leaders to identify appropriate agency participation and resources.
- Facilitate communication between community partners and Resource Center staff.
- Maintain a calendar and tracking system for community engagement opportunities.
- Ensure community partners receive timely responses regarding participation requests.
- Assist with outreach event preparation at selected outreach events.
- Represent Resource Center at outreach events, health fairs, volunteer fairs, and community gatherings.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies.
- Identify ways to increase awareness of Resource Center's programs and services.
- Support partnership-building and cross-agency collaboration efforts.
- Participate in community networking and engagement activities as assigned.
- Maintain databases and records related to volunteers, outreach activities, and community engagement requests.
- Prepare reports on volunteer engagement and community outreach activities.
- Assist with grant and program reporting related to volunteer and outreach efforts.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, community engagement, event support, or nonprofit program administration.
- Experience working with diverse populations, community partners, and departments
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Competencies in relationship building, customer service, and volunteer engagement
- Written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Administrative and organizational skills required with time and project management experience preferred.
