Position Overview:
The Community Wellness Engagement Specialist plays a central role in advancing Resource Center’s Community Wellness model, which prioritizes connection, belonging, and holistic well-being as pathways to mental health support. This role develops and leads strategic partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations and external providers to expand reach and co-deliver wellness initiatives. The Engagement Specialist collaborates closely with mental healthcare staff, community partners, and internal teams to co-create impactful programming that integrates social connection with intentional therapeutic elements.

This role develops and leads strategic partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations and external providers to expand reach and co-deliver wellness initiatives. The Engagement Specialist collaborates closely with mental healthcare staff, community partners, and internal teams to co-create impactful programming that integrates social connection with intentional therapeutic elements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, ambassadors, and external organizations to expand outreach across North Texas
- Develop, design, and coordinate community wellness programming, including prevention, psychoeducation, and social engagement events
- Work with the Mental Healthcare team to ensure programming reflects trauma-informed, culturally competent, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)-aligned approaches
- Work with the Community Wellness Coordinator to ensure seamless scheduling, registration, and participant support
- Work in close partnership with the Community Wellness Front Office Coordinator to align scheduling, registration, and logistics for a smooth participant experience
- Coordinate staffing and support programming across non-traditional pathways that include therapeutic social engagement, psychoeducation, and wellness-based learning, in collaboration with mental healthcare staff, ensuring experiences are low-barrier and community-centered
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations and external providers to co-create and deliver wellness programming, ensuring alignment with community needs and clinical standards while supporting mutual referral pathways across partners and internal mental health services.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, Community Engagement, or related field preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience in community outreach, program coordination, or health/wellness initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with event planning and digital engagement strategies
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with LGBTQIA+ populations and culturally diverse communities
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for scheduled community events
- Knowledge of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks preferred
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms or LMS systems preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
